  • Fun, zippy, gas saver!

As a car guy, I love this car! I got the 5-speed manual transmission with the 1.6 liter (HR16DE). The interior is spacious (especially the trunk, it's HUGE), and the exterior is a cool design too. It accelerates fast (contrary to what others say), and gets great gas mileage (I'm at 45mpg, empty car, highway miles). The only complaint I have is it should have come with a 6-speed. The engine screams at 3,500RPM @ 70mph. Too early to tell with reliability, but so far, so good!

Ok. I know the old versa looked a lil cartoonish but it had a great amount of space inside. I'm 6 feet tall and 180 pounds and I felt great in front and back seats. I was looking at new 2020 model Versa and I felt very squished in the front seat. Rear seat is adequate. The main issue is the middle shifter housing that should be elimated and replaced with buttons or column shifter. Then there's the window switch pad. It sticks out too far resulting in not be able to rest legs to the side. Please make the changes so I can buy a versa in future. I want a base stick shift to avoid the JATCO tranny
  • The quality just isn't there

I've had the car for almost 7 months, and I've had issues with my center screen (don't scroll too fast while using bluetooth!), the automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning lights, and various things falling off that shouldn't fall off of a brand new car. The bluetooth issue, yeah, fine, whatever, I can adapt to. I never had a car that had a bluetooth link before this one. I'm told that the reason my 2 safety systems that kept blinking was because it was a new car that needed breaking in. The dealership replaced the front sonar. After that got sorted, I didn't have any issues until about a month ago. The plastic covering the B-pillar started coming off as I was entering the car. The plastic kick plate on the door jam started coming off too. Plus, I feel like if I just look at my car funny, it gets a scratch. On the plus side, the gas mileage on long trips is insane. We got 37.9 miles to the gallon on the highway. In town driving is a little meh at an average 20 mpg , but I think that has more to do with living and working within a mile of each location, than any fault of the vehicle. Saying that, and with the current pandemic as a factor, I only have to fill up about once a month, which is nice. I love having a backup camera, and space wise, it was comfortable for a 3 1/2 hour drive, but there isn't really a lot of head or leg room in the back seat.
Plus government fees and taxes, any finance charges, $85 dealer document processing charge, any electronic filing charge and any emission testing charge. (Eff 7/1/12)
